This nailer is compatible with

Galvanized Coil Roofing Nails.
Powerful and Accurate Nail Delivery
Amazingly powerful, the RN46-1 is capable of delivering 410 in./lbs. of force at 100 psi. And with the ability to drive up to 100 nails per minute, the RN46-1 offers two firing methods: contact trip and sequential trip. Contact trip uses a bouncing motion along the workpiece and is great for working on large areas, such as roofs. Sequential trip firing is for precision applications, such as finish work. For shingle work, the RN46-1 features an integrated, tool-less gauge used to control shingle spacing.

Get the Right Depth for the Job
The RN46-1 allows for fast, tool-less depth-of-drive adjustments with its integrated depth dial. The dial has five different settings for finding the perfect driving depth for the job, including flush mount driving, shallow driving, and countersinking.

High-Capacity, Quick-Load Magazine Reduces Downtime
To help eliminate downtime, the RN46-1 has a high-capacity magazine that holds up to 120 coil nails. It accepts nails with a shank diameter of 0.120 and a length of 3/4 inch to 1-3/4 inch.

A zero nail lock-out feature eliminates dry firing when the magazine is empty, and it also indicates when it is time to reload. What's more, a patented single-action side-load canister allows for quick and easy nail loading. You simply slide the magazine door open, load the new coil of nails, and close the magazine door--it's that easy.

Designed for Comfort and Durability
The RN46-1 Coil Roofing Nailer is constructed of tough magnesium for durability on the jobsite. What's more, magnesium is lightweight, so this nailer is easy on your arms.

The nosepiece features a carbide insert for durability and long tool life, while wear guards and skid pads provide protection from damage caused by working on abrasive surfaces.

The over-molded grip provides maximum comfort and gripping ability in any weather condition. That means this roofing nailer can be used for a variety of different applications--inside and out--including exterior drywall, vapor barrier installation, vinyl siding, fiber cement siding, composition roofing, and more.

The Bostitch RN46-1 Coil Roofing Nailer measures 10-1/2 x 4-5/8 x 10-5/8 inches (LxWxH) and weighs 4.8 pounds. It is backed by a seven-year limited warranty.

2 out of 5 stars Not A Bad Nailer until it crapped out after TWO roofs...   January 29, 2010

The main reason I started buying Bostitch tools last year was for the 7 yr warranty. Now I know why they have to offer it. I bought a floor nailer--broke the first time I used it. I bought a coil siding nailer. It's still working OK... only been about 18 months and I don't use it much. Bought a Bostitch framing gun... and it's been OK as well.

The Bostitch roofing nailer I bought last year has been a disappointment. I'm not a professional roofer so this doesn't get heavy, daily or weekly use. I've used it to put on two roofs so far--neither of which was particularly large. On only the SECOND roof, this gun started mis-firing and jamming up. So, I bought a Milwaukee to finish the job and it's been working fine so far... though, again, not heavy use yet.

Sure, Bostitch has a 7 yr warranty. I haven't had time to drive the THIRTY MILES to the closest authorized Bostitch repair location (strange how they chose a place that is 30 miles outside of one of the largest cities in the country (Houston), instead of a centrally located place like Circle Saw (who does factory service for many other major brands).... I guess if you make it inconvenient enough to get your tool serviced, you save a lot on repair costs.

7 yr warranty or not, if I can't rely on the tools, I'm not buying any more of them. I hope you're reading Bostitch... because you're taking the same road to the bottom that has destroyed the Maytag brand....

4 out of 5 stars coil nailer   January 14, 2010
simple man (Williamston MI.)
I've been a Roofer for 22yrs at one of the nations largest co.. I'm on my third Bostitch, the gun is good for 200,000 nails and then the seals go and the little rubber o-ring's that hold miscellaneous pin's fall off ect... But like I said this is my third one and I'll buy a forth, because the power they have is superior to most at a fair price!

5 out of 5 stars Way Better Than The Hitachi   August 29, 2009

I love this gun. I bought it last October and its been working awesome ever since. A couple months before that I decided to buy a Hitachi because I read and it was said to me that they are "the best". The first one I got, the trigger was leaking. I returned it. The same thing happened on the next one. I had to wait a month before I received another one. So when i received it, I sold it and bought Bostitch. And I'm glad I did. Has been working flawlessly since I got it. Its easier to change coils (only one little to open. You don't have to swing one door out and one door in), easier to set the depth (dial-a-depth. You don't have to pull and spin a little stick on the side of your gun), light (4.9 pounds not counting the coil), and doesn't leak. All the Hitachis I saw and used let out a little hiss before you nail. Supposedly its a safety feature. Its annoys the hell out of me. The Bostitch just performs day after day. As for jams, the only time it happens is when the coils are a little ruffed up and kind of squished. Keep your coils in a safe place where they wont get squished and you'll never have any jams and you'll never have nails go in crooked. And oil your gun every time you use it. It will work a lot smoother. If you're gonna be roofing every day, this guy pays it self off in no time.

5 out of 5 stars These guns just can't be beat   February 27, 2009

I laid about 5000 square of roof with the older (heavier) Bostitch roofing nailers, and never had a problem with the guns - you just had to remember to add a drop of oil each day in the air inlet and the guns would last years. I am out of the roofing business for about 10 years, but if I were to go back in it, I would spend the money on a Bostitch any day.

There isn't much to write. I have received the product to do a roofing job that is scheduled, but not begun. So I cannot comment on the performance. However, the ordering process was great.

Thanks
